Blackout dates
Blackout dates are calendar days on which outbound campaigns must not send. Use them for public holidays, religious observances, and any other day where mass-sending would be inappropriate.
How blackouts work
- Recurring campaigns — when the next scheduled occurrence falls on a blackout date, that occurrence is skipped entirely. Recurring campaigns don’t reschedule around blackouts; the day is just lost.
- One-shot scheduled campaigns — refuse to launch on a blackout date. You’ll see the error when trying to schedule.
- Send-now campaigns — also refused on a blackout date.
- Every skip is captured in the audit log.
Blackouts apply tenant-wide. There is no per-department override on this page.
Adding a blackout date
- Settings → Blackout dates → Add date.
- Pick a Date.
- Add an optional Label (e.g.
Christmas Day,Eid al-Fitr — Day 1). - Click Add.
The new date appears in the table immediately and starts blocking from the next campaign evaluation.

Removing a date
Click Remove on the row. Future occurrences are no longer blocked. Already-skipped past occurrences are not retroactively sent — they’re gone.
Best practices
- Add the whole year in advance. Eid dates shift annually based on lunar observation; don’t wait until the week of to remember.
- Use the Label field. Six months later, “2026-04-12” without context is hard to verify.
- Coordinate with Quiet Hours. A blackout date and an overnight quiet window are different controls — blackouts skip the whole day, quiet hours defer to later in the day.
- Don’t use blackouts for low-traffic days. They’re a hard block; if you just want to reduce volume, build the schedule with smaller daily caps instead.
